News from the Parish for this week
PATRONAL FESTIVAL
Thanks to all who helped with the Patronal Festival Lunch setting-up, supplying and serving food, and clearing up afterwards, and also thank you to everyone who took part.
The Autumn Raffle was drawn at the lunch and the winners were: Linda Boyd, T. Ryan and the Kennedy family.
Did you mistakenly take home the wrong pair of salad servers? Margaret Payne is missing a pair of stainless steel and glass servers. Please contact Margaret on 9849 0827 if they went home with you by mistake.
PARISH OUTREACH PROGRAM
It is hoped that all Parishioners, although living very busy and committed lives, will volunteer at least once a month to be a welcoming presence in the front office of St Peter's, from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm, two on duty together.
We look forward to a long list of names of volunteers — don't leave it to the next person.
Please help to fulfil this outreach into the community.
PARISH FETE AT ST PETER'S — 16 WEEKS TO GO!!!!
The Parish Fete at St Peter's will be held on Saturday 25 October, 2008, from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm. Please note this in your diaries now!
This is a reminder that the next meeting of all those interested in the management of the fete, will take place on Thursday 10 July, at 7.00 pm in the Undercroft.
At this meeting will be progress reports on car
parking, application of permits, stall holders, signs, hall layout. Concerning the major raffle: if anyone has an item that could be a prize in the raffle, please let Phil Dooley know. The raffle so far has (or will have) a holiday at the beach, two hampers, exercise bike, gents watch, ferry trip. Another quality prize would be nice.
Please check those once-loved possessions and decide whether to hand them over to KK's, collectables, Steptoe. Please do not donate furniture (too heavy), or electrical goods (by order from above). If you do have either you wish to dispose of, please consider selling through EBay or the Trading Post, and giving the takings to the fete.
If
you cannot come to the meeting, but have suggestions (or questions), then please get in touch with Laurie Smale (9890 3224), Margaret or Phil Dooley (9890 9141).
HEALING MINISTRY SERVICE
The Parish will commence a monthly "Healing Ministry Service" at St Peter's on the fourth Tuesday of each month, commencing 22 July, at 6.00 pm. This will be a time for 'intentional prayer' for the sick as well as a time for people to have the ministry of 'laying on of hands' and/or 'anointing'. The service will take no more than an hour. Parishioners are encouraged to attend and support this ministry.
NAME TAGS
Anyone who would like a new name tag should place their name on the sheet at the back of St Peter’s. All ordered name tags are now in the rack.
