Choir
Our Parish Choir leads the music at the 9.30 Sunday Eucharist
at St Peter's. We regularly sing different settings of the service, the Psalm to Anglican Chant and a selection of hymns from Together in Song. During Communion the Choir sings an anthem.
The Vestry have made four bursaries available to encourage young singers to join the Choir. Enquiries about the bursaries can be directed to the Vicar or Director of Music.
The Choir also sings at special services held at the times of the church's major festivals.
Choir practices are held on Wednesday nights during the school term times. New members are most welcome. The primary qualification is that you enjoy singing.

Sudanese Resettlement Project
Our Parish has welcomed the arrival of a congregation of Sudanese refugees from the Bor region of Southern Sudan. This congregation presently numbers about 70 members, ranging in ages from newborn to mid-fifties. These refugees have come via long stays in refugee camps in Kenya and Cairo.
Once families have settled here they often sponsor other family members as they are granted refugee status and travel documents to come to Australia.
Box Hill Parish, in partnership with Anglicare Victoria, provides a variety of programmes to assist these people in their assimilation into our wider community. These programmes include: ESL classes, literacy work, sewing classes and a homework club.
We are always on the lookout for volunteers to assist with these programmes which offer rich rewards to both volunteer and participant. Enquiries can be directed to our office on 9890 5425 (Wednesday to Fridays). More>>
Study Programs
The Parish offers a number of opportunities for people to explore aspects of the Christian faith during the course of the year.
On Thursdays, following the 2.00 pm Eucharist at St Philip's, a Bible Study is led by the Vicar. Over the last year we have explored Genesis, Mark's Gospel and the Book of Revelation. People are welcome to join this Study at any time and can feel free to leave at any time.
During the Season of Lent studies are offered to those who like to participate.
"The Easter Journey": we have just completed
our first journey which culminated in two people being confirmed on Easter Morning. The journey offers people the opportunity to explore the Christian faith and to either reaffirm their baptism, be baptised and/or be confirmed at Easter. The journey traditionally begins around All Saints' Day at the beginning of November. Any enquiries can be directed to the Vicar.
Mens' Dinner
On the third Tuesday of the months of May through to November the Parish hosts a series of mens' dinners which offer both fellowship and an interesting speaker. Our topics can be as varied as "crossing the Kokoda" to speakers representing a variety of different organisations which serve our community.
Newcomers are most welcome. The dinner starts at 6.00 for 6.30 pm and the cost is $12.50. Check the weekly notices for more details.
